The Foxhound is a British breed dating back to the fourteenth century. He was used to pursue the Fox and Deer throughout the British Countryside. Today, the best purebred Foxhounds can be traced back to four main packs, Earl Fitzwilliams (Milton Pack), Duke of Rutland (Belvoir Pack), Duke of Beaufort (Beaufort Pack) and the Earl of Yarborough (Brocklesby Pack).
The Foxhound is a large handsome hound, somewhat a taller version of the Beagle, smooth coated, ears broad and pendant; eyes large and wide-set either hazel to dark brown in colour. Head is fairly long with a slightly domed, moderately large skull. His top-line is straight and does not dip in the middle; front legs are well-boned and straight. The tail is set moderately high-on with a slight upward curve which does not turn forward over his back.

Epilepsy: The English Foxhound can suffer from epilepsy, a disorder that determinants seizures in the dog. A dog can live a full and wholesome life with the proper administration of this hereditary disorder. Renal Disease: furthermore renowned as kidney infection, it occurs when the kidneys are incapable to clear the blood of certain toxins such as creatinine and urea.
